Rent Assistance

Information on Rental Assistance

The Assistance Center of Collin County (ACCC) provides rental assistance to eligible households experiencing a temporary financial crisis. Funding is Limited and assistance is not guaranteed.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Reside in Collin County
  • Be experiencing a documented financial hardship or housing crisis
  • Meet the income and program eligibility guidelines

Provide the following documentation:

  • Valid photo ID for all adult household members
  • Proof of residency
  • Proof of household income
  • Current lease agreement (if applicable)
  • Current Bank Statements
  • Docmentation supporting your financial hardship


How to Apply

Collin County Mortgage & Rental Assistance (CMTX)

THIS PORTAL IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR THE MONTH OF JULY. August applications will open on July 27th.

The program is available to eligible residents through Collin County 

Application Steps:

  1. Complete the online CMTX application
  2. Upload all required documentation, including your bank statements
  3. Submit your application for review 
  4. If additional information is needed or you are eligible for assistance, a case manager will contact you within next steps

Important: Incomplete applicants will be automatically declined. Please ensure all requested documents are uploaded before submitting your application. We don't accept walk-ins appointments.

Additional assistance

Plano Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP)

Currently Closed Until October 1st, 2026

This program is available only to eligible residents of the City of Plano who are at risk of homelessness.

Application Steps:

  1. Complete the online HPP Assessment
  2. Submit all required information and documentation
  3. All 3-5 business days for a case manager to review your assessment
  4. If you qualify, a case manager will contact you to schedule an appointment

Please Note:

HPP is available only for Plano residents

The Assistance Center does not accept walk-in appointments for rental assistance

Completing the online assessment is required before an appointment can be scheduled.
